Hello Humans of the internet! If you’re the sort of person who keeps up with my blog then you might have noticed that it’s been awhile since I posted. There are a number of reasons as to why. Reason #1: A mouse was living inside my computer. An actual mouse was living inside my actual computer. Reason #2 is because I’ve been thinking a lot about this post.
Hello Humans of the internet! It’s Thursday! “But, AK, you only post on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Why are you online right now?” Well, I realized that I made a mistake yesterday, so I’m posting today to address that. Continue reading “Oops!”
Hello Humans of the Internet! We’ve made it to another Monday and considering all the things going on in the world that’s something to be grateful for. This is going to be another fairly short post because I don’t have a lot to say, but also feel that I can’t be silent. I’m sure that I’m not the only person that feels like that right now. Continue reading “The State of Things”
Hello humans of the internet! I hope you’re having wonderful days. Today (by today, I mean freakishly late at night when I write), I felt that it was time to talk about technology. I think we can all agree that technology is great. I can talk to friends that live on a different continent in real time. If you have allergies and don’t know what you can eat at a restaurant, you can probably look it up. When you have a cold, you can search your symptoms and convince yourself you’re dying of cancer. You can binge watch television. In this age of tech, most communication is through text message and that’s what I want to talk about (hence the title). Continue reading “Texting Dyslexic”
Hello humans of the internet. I hope y’all are having a great day and that tomorrow is even better. This morning marked the beginning of the end of our road trip. We are back on the Eastern side of the Mississippi River staying with family. Continue reading “Dyslexic Navigation”
Hello, humans of the internet! Much to my surprise I have woken up this early instead of staying up this late. It’s about 5 o’clock in the morning for me and I’m staying in a road side motel in Georgia with my parents and older sister.
Why am I here? My brother is currently on his way to Missouri from Oregon and my parents decided kind of spur of the moment that we were going out to meet him at his new apartment. So, everyone asked for time of work, we threw a bunch of things in the car during a packing panic and here we are. I don’t have any good pictures of the South Carolina portion of our trip because we were driving in the dark. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some good ones in Tennessee and Alabama today. Continue reading “Surprise Road Trip”
Hello, humans of the internet. I would like to apologize in advance as this is not going to be my typical blog post simply because I am feeling not so positive this week. I’ve been thinking for a while now about the world and the current political environment because, well, we have to live in this world. I thought about not posting this, but as you are now reading it, you can see that I changed my mind. Continue reading “Storms”
Hello, lost humans of the internet. I hope that you have had a great year. For a lot of people this was an overall difficult year, but it is important to remember that there was also a lot of good moments. And if there is nothing else, at least we can all rest assured that it’s almost over. There are just a few more minutes. Probably, by the time you read this, it’ll already be 2017. So, raise a glass be glad that we’ve all made it this far and pray for what’s to come. Continue reading “The End”
Hello spooky humans of the internet! This is my favorite day of the whole year, which is why I elected to wait and write this blog post today instead of Friday or Saturday as usual. I usually dress up in a different costume everyday of the week leading up to Halloween in something that I like to call “Halloweek”. My original plan was to dress up everyday this week leading up to Halloween on Monday. However, for multiple reasons I am only doing one costume this year. Time to talk about Halloween!
I also noticed a severe lack of Halloween stuff around. In the U.S. there are costumes and decorations out in the stores for all of October and sometimes even at the end of September. I don’t know if I just don’t know where to look, but I really didn’t see that much Halloween stuff out in stores until about a week ago. I don’t know if this is all over the UK or just in this particular part of London. I have heard from several friends that the only people who actually get into Halloween are children and people at clubs. Any British people out there, let me know if this is true.
Now, as I abruptly change direction of this post, I’m dressing as the universe this year. This costume was suggested by my older sister. I watched about a million YouTube videos to learn how to do it. Of course, I did not mimic theirs exactly because with make-up you have to take your own face shape into account. Here are links to a few of the useful make-up tutorials that i watched:
These are all amazing make-up artists and even if you don’t want to do galaxy make-up you should watch their videos! I’d love to here about what you are all going to be for Halloween, so describe it or put pictures down in the comments. Unless you hate Halloween, then I guess you can tell me why you don’t like it, or talk about you’re favorite holiday instead.
Until next week, keep it weird guys. Much love, AK
Greetings lost humans of the interweb, this week has been relatively slow, mostly just cleaning and doing laundry. I think everybody needs break weeks like this every now and then. My plans for the coming weeks are shaky at best. I’m going to be on the job hunt and getting everything together in preparation for studying abroad next semester. I promise to have a more interesting post next week.
I wish wonderful weeks on you all. If you trip on this post, please come again when things are more interesting. As always, keep it wierd and be cute.
