Hello Humans of the Internet! First of all, a giant thank you to Niall O’Donnell over at English-Language Thoughts for nominating me. If you aren’t already following his blog, you should go check it out. I love reading his posts about words and their meanings. He’s a fantastic writer. (Yes, its been a while since he nominated me, I’m really bad at over thinking questions like this). This award was created by Okoto Enigma you should also go check her site out, spread the love.

Hello humans of the internet! It’s Wednesday. I hope that you have been having good weeks so far. While I enjoyed having Labor Day off on Monday, I feel like I had to do double the work on Tuesday. Part of me wishing that I hadn’t had the day off but the rest of me recognizes that breaks like that are good for the mental well-being. At this point in the year, almost everyone who is still in school is back in school. This post is not really for you, it is for the people who love you and miss you and want you to have a great college experience. (You should send this to one of those people)

Hello Humans of the internet! It’s Monday, yet again. Isn’t it funny how time just keeps moving forward and we feel the need to mark it’s passing? I have a day off from work today for Labor Day. What am I doing with my time off? you ask. Well, I’m getting caught up on here and trying to pre-write and schedule some posts because it’s hard to have a full time job and blog. Not that I have anything to complain about. I love blogging and I love my job; I wouldn’t give up either. On with the post. Continue reading “Things that I believed for way too long #2”
Hello, Human’s of the internet! This has been a really long week and it’s only Monday. Ahhh! Don’t get me wrong I love working with children, but sometimes they sap the energy out of you. I planned on writing a second “We’re all just people on a Big Blue Planet” interview over the weekend to pay today, but, I’m still working on getting it together. It should be up next week or later on this week. For now I’m going to talk about my favorite color. First of all, you’re right, this is random and has nothing to do with dyslexia.

Hello humans of the internet! I hope that you have had wonderful weeks and that wonderful things are in front of you. It is mid-July. In South Carolina that means a lot of things. It means that triple digit temperatures is not unexpected. It means bringing ice to outdoor animals all day. It means almost nightly thunderstorms. It means having to water the garden in the morning because even with downpours at least once a week, there isn’t enough water to counteract the heat. And for my dad and older sister (both teachers) it means getting ready for school to start back. They aren’t the only ones, this time of year, you can’t go into a store without being surrounded by back to school signs and rows of “college essentials.” I was struck by the realization, that I never have to go to school again as I walked past the aisles filled with pencil cases and novelty notebooks.

Hello lost humans of the internet! Welcome to Dys-Adventures. I haven’t written about any dysadventures lately. This doesn’t mean that I haven’t been having my fair share of dysadventures. I’ve just wanted to share all of my adventures in London with you. Rest assured, I have been embarrassing myself, getting hopelessly lost and just generally bumbling through life. This week I was going to talk about one of my many dysadventures, in this case getting lost trying to understand the Tube map, but on Tuesday, I had the actual best day of my entire life. So, I am again going to talk about stuff that has no correlation with dyslexia.
I WENT TO PADDINGTON STATION!

Today, I made it all the way through my entire College Algebra Final without a single dys-adventure! I realize that the lack of mishaps in my life might make for an incredibly boring blog post, but this is so rare, I just want to revel in it for a while. (Of course, this is as far as I know. There is a chance that I wrote everything backwards and just don’t know, but I’m going to focus on the fact that I think I did great.)
It is strange to think that I have just completed my junior year of college. I simultaneously feel that I have just begun and that I have been studying here for ages. It’s weird to think that I only have one more year and that half of that year is going to be spent studying abroad. College is a really unique time in life. Never before or again, will you be packed into a large building exclusively housing people of your age group while you are all focusing intently on the things that you are passionate about. All of your best friends are within walking distance of you almost all the time. In just a week a lot of people that I have become very close to will be graduating and its hard to imagine not being able to show up at their door at random times because you are just that stressed out.
Good luck to all the college seniors out there. May you find the jobs or grad programs that you desire and may you chase your dreams whatever those dreams may be. If your dream is to eat 10 gallons of ice cream in one day, do.
Now, to move on to much more pressing matter: What would you name an incredibly soft toy sheepie? This is very important and I really would love some answers. So, please lost people of the interwebs who have stumbled upon this site at some strange hour after far too much computer time, leave a comment with your suggestion. I have a name-less plushie on my hands and can’t let this continue. Thank you in advanced for your help. It is much appreciated. After a name is chosen, I will give you a proper introduction.
For now, everybody, keep it weird, keep it cute, and stay happy.
