Things to say to a person who’s significant other is deployed

Hello humans of the internet! I made a list of well meaning but not great things people have said during this deployment. And I started thinking, you know what’s a lot more positive and helpful. Good things to say. So here is a list of some things I’d like to hear. If you’re a person who’s person is now or has ever been deployed feel free to add to it.

  1. I have like 2 extra pints of ice cream, do you want to eat this and watch movies?
  2. I would love to teach you how to put oil in your car.
  3. I am in total support of you dyeing your hair at 2am.
  4. No, you don’t talk about him too much.
  5. I’m not sick of hearing the same story over and over of the last time you heard from him.
  6. That is a completely normal insecurity and I’m not judging you at all
