I Won!!

Hello Humans of the internet!  We’ve talked about my obession with tiny toys and anything cute.  I’m currently surrounded by way too many pillows and plushies for a 23 year old.  One of which is a sloth that looks almost uncomfortably like my boyfriend.  But this is not about that.  This is about claw machines.

My great aunt who passed a year ago used to do claw machines a lot.  And she won them all the time.  I had several toys growing up that she won for us from claw machines.  I always see the claw machines in the front of Wal-Mart.  Y’all know Wal-Mart is my favorite store.  At the front of Wal-Mart there’s usually a RedBox, so little lucky egg machines, claw machines, if you’re lucky some even have either one of those planes that toddlers ride on or an arcade game.  Our local Wal-Mart has several claw machines.  I show a serious amount of self control and only very rarely try to win the claw machine.  There’s one machine that has legitimately always has the exact same toys and there’s never any missing.  You don’t try that claw machine.  No one wins that claw machine.  One always has seasonally themed toys that are usually not cute.  But the awkwardly positioned behind the weird key making machine, is the best.  It always has cute toys.  There’s always toys missing, which means it’s winnable.  (Because you know how some claw machines are impossible to win.  It doesn’t matter how many times you sit there and try.  It doesn’t matter how much money you put into that machine:  You won’t win.)  This morning (last Saturday) I went to Wal-Mart and on the way out I looked at that claw machine and I saw one plushie narwhal perfectly perched.  It reminded me of my great aunt, specifically of her advice on claw machines.  Don’t pick the one you want, pick the one you can get.  And I knew I could get the narwhal.  And that narwhal was cute.  And the machine is only 50 cents to play.  The other two not as good claw machines are $1.  Long story short:  I now have a narwal plushie!
