Hello humans of the internet! I’m currently sitting in a waiting room waiting for my allergy shots and I’ve been thinking about something a lot, so I thought I’d share it with all of y’all.
First of all, this has nothing to do with dyslexia, I’m talking about my boyfriend who is in the marines. I might talk about him too much but i think about him constantly and most of those thoughts are worry. All of my friends are very kind, sweet humans that I love and some of whom might read this which is why I’d like to start by saying, I know that it’s coming from a good place. But, please stop asking inappropriate questions and comparing relationships. I know that everyone has stuff that they have to deal with. I understand that you might be stressed when your boyfriend is on vacation for a week, but don’t compare it to a deployment. I would be happy to talk about your life and listen to you complain about your boyfriend ignoring your calls or anything. Whatever you want/need to talk about. I really would, just don’t start with, I totally understand what you’re going through. And really really don’t talk about someone that you know who’s boyfriend or girlfriend cheated on them then ask if I worry about Schulz cheating. Because no, I don’t. And please please please don’t tell me about some mild injury that your significant other obtained then ask if I’m afraid if Schulz will die. Because yes, constantly.
I’m not saying my relationship is harder than anyone else’s. Honestly, dating Schulz is easy. Frequent changes and infrequent visits, that’s difficult. But dating Schulz is easy.
A relative once said something that really stuck with me;
‘There are as many ways to exist and live as there are people in the world’.
No two paths are the same, so no two stories can be compared. Wishing you continued happiness in your unique and beautiful relationship 🙂

There sure are a lot of people who want to bring us down or convince us they know exactly what we are going through. Why can’t they just listen to us?

I do feel bad for complaining about it though. I know they mean well

Complain away. I don’t mind at all.
