Things That I Believed for Way to Long #4

Hello Humans of the internet!  This is was brought to my attention by a friend when I was explaining the title of my blog.  I turns out that dyslexia and disability are spelled differently.

I think that I have been spelling both of them correctly.  Or at least autocorrect has been autocorrecting me correctly.  I was asked why I chose to call my blog, Dysadventures.  I explained the joke of it being a combination of both dyslexia and misadventures.  Therefore making it misadventures caused by dyslexia.  And I told her that I also liked the inclusiveness of it.  Like maybe it could help someone else with a disability to deal with their struggles because like anyone with a disability could be a dysadventurer.

“But, they’re spelled different.”

“What do you mean?”

“Dyslexia is spelled with a y and disabilities is a i.”

So, now I feel like my whole life is a lie.  I thought that the first three letters of dyslexia and disability were the same.  Should I change the title to Disadventures?  I don’t know.

This might not be my most articulate post.  I just feel very mind blown right now.

much love

  1. Hey btw… The “dys” is what got me interested in the first place (like a first glance) and then again… I love your writing… Especially all these funny stories! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ We all make weird mistakesπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. She was just confused by it. Lol. Probably because I used to be really embarrassed about being dyslexic, so most of my friends from high school didn’t know. I’m glad so many people like it though
