We’re All Just People On a Big Blue Planet #6

Hello Humans of the internet!  Today’s post is all about James.  James is a kind person and a talented musician who was adopted very young and struggles with depression (the two are unrelated).  We talked mostly about his adoption story, but also about his calling in life, because that is just something I ask everyone.  We began with what he feels his calling is

Well, I’m not entirely sure, but hopefully it has to do with music.

I like that it’s universal.  You don’t have to be part of a specific culture or speak a certain language to appreciate their music, or to understand the emotions it conveys.

I also asked if his parents or birth parents had also like music to his knowledge.  His parents did and he wasn’t sure about his birth parents but said,

I think just about everyone enjoys some form of music, it’s an intrinsic part of being human.

On the subject of adoption we also discussed how that has affected him.

I was adopted as soon as I was born basically. My foster parents are also my adoptive parents. I’ve been with them my while life.

Bring adopted showed me that compassion isn’t limited to those of similar blood. My foster parents loved me as much as their own children, but I’ve seen many blood relatives who hate each other.

And of course, I asked if there was one thing James would like you to know and he wanted to talk about depression

I’d like people to realize how hard it can be to live with depression. It can be a real struggle at times to find the motivation to just get out of bed.

I would like to add, please pray for James and his family as his mother recently lost her battle with cancer.

I'm a writer with dyslexic.
