Missing the point

Hello Humans of the internet!  It’s Wednesday. And Wednesday means that I have a blog post to write.  It also means that I yet again let time escape me and I’m writing this at 5:30.  Please excuse the errors and typos.  This will not be my best work.  A thing happened that inspired me to write a post (just like every other time I’ve posted). This time, I was sent a joke.  This joke.

dyslexic meme

Imagine being dyslexic and reading this.

Honestly, I just stared at it for a couple of seconds.  (I mean a couple seconds longer then I usually stare squiggles on a page trying to force them to make words).  Finally, I worked out that the bar owner was slapping a dyslexic man, but I didn’t know why.  Or why someone would send me this.  Was this a joke?  The messaged said, I think you’ll laugh at this.  (It must be a joke and I do like a good dyslexia joke (gotta laugh at your own struggle, right?))  I couldn’t figure out what I was missing or how random violence towards this man who was just walking into a bar could possibly be the joke.  Was it something with the chicken?  Were there words somewhere in this picture that my brain just wasn’t preregistering as words?  What was the point of this meme?

Finally, I sent it to my best friend and asked her if it was mean or funny.  She explained that it did not say that the dyslexic man walked into a bar but rather a bra.  I’m not sure if the joke isn’t funny or if it just took so long and so much explaining that I didn’t find it funny.  So, anyway.  I’m just going to leave you with the best joke I know:

What do you call a back-talking Big Foot?

Sassyquatch.

Share the best joke you know down in the comments!  Let’s make each other laugh today.

Much love, AK
