Hello Humans of the internet! This is a post that I promised a while ago….and here it finally is! For those of you who missed the first We’re All Just People post, that’s a link to read it if you feel so inclined. I’ve been trying for several months to interview someone once or twice an month to illustrate my idea that all people have something important to share with the world. Seeing as I got this idea back in January and am currently writing the second, I’m not doing a very good job. But, it’s going to get more regular, I’ve got a couple lined up, so without further ado, here is the interview:
Amanda (this is not the same Amanda as the first interview) is a college freshman who has just moved out for the first time.
- Talking about her calling
“I had this kind of revelation my freshman year [of high school]. Something we could bring more to this world is stories and storytelling. I really want to inspire people. Stories have magic. They have lasted for centuries and still have ideas we can share with people.”
- Obstacles she has encountered in her pursuit of her calling
“I definitely doubt myself a lot. Which when you’re going into art and stuff is very anxiety ridden. I get into my own head too much.”
- Talking about dealing with those obstacles
“I feel like this is what God is telling me is my path. That’s really reaffirming to me. Even when it’s hard, I’m in the right direction.”
- Finally, one thing that she wanted to share with others who are moving out
“Moving in isn’t as scary as you think it’s going to be.”
It was a real treat to get to talk to Amanda like this. Even though she is my baby cousin, I hadn’t realized what an amazing woman she was becoming. I know that I didn’t cover any of the “get to know you questions” like favorite color or do you have pets. It is my hope that through this short interview, you can see a glimpse of who this wonderful person is.
If you would like to be interviewed for a future We’re All Just People on a Big Blue Planet (I should shorten that) or if you know someone who you think should be interviewed let me know in the comments or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are suggesting someone else, please give me a way to contact them.
much love, AK
