Of Barbaras and Blandinas

Today was the first day of my junior year.  And unfortunately, I’ve already had a Dys-adventure.  Our professor projected a slide containing a brief story, which we were expected to read.  I don’t know if anyone else has problems with this, but I personally can’t read words on brightly colored pages.  So, this professor used a bright blue background with white words.  Anyway, I stared at this for several minutes and had finally picked out a few words like “Barbara” and “research” and “prison”.  Needless to say, this made no sense to me.  The professor asked us to describe what was happening in the story.  Another student raised their hand.  Apparently the story was actually about a 3rd century Christinan woman named Blandina who remained faithful during torture until God rescued her.  So, yeah, real glad that the professor didn’t call on me.
